Minutes
LAFAYETTE TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Public Hearing
Tuesday, February 19, 2008

Meeting called to order:  3:30 p.m.

Members Present:  Trustee Lee Kehoe, Trustee Donald Butler, Fiscal Officer Shirley Bailey

Members Absent:  Trustee Lynda Bowers

Mr. Kehoe explained that this meeting was a public hearing on the Lafayette Township Zoning Map Amendment for the
Medina Country Club property.  He stated that there had been a technical error in the meeting information.  In order to
maintain the legal integrity, the meeting will not be held today.

Zoning Inspector, Alliss Strogin, spoke from the audience and explained that she had spoken with the Medina County
Prosecutor, Mr. Bill Thorne.  She stated that the prior meeting of February 12th was cancelled due to bad weather.
However, a meeting can not be continued that was not started.  The cancelled meeting had never been opened.  Ms.
Strogin also stated that when the date was picked for the next meeting, there was a question if there had been a formal
motion for that date and a legal notice placed in the paper.  Mr. Thorne advised to allow time for the paper to receive
the notice and publish.  Mr. Thorne also advised to err on the side of caution and reschedule the meeting to insure that
all legal matters were handled in the proper way.

Mr. Kehoe asked for an emergency meeting with the Board of Trustees at 3:46 p.m.

Members Present:  Trustee Lee Kehoe, Trustee Don Butler

Member Absent:  Trustee Lynda Bowers

Mr. Kehoe moved to set the date for the Public Hearing for the Granite Golf Property on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 7:
00 p.m. at the Town Hall.  Mr. Butler seconded.  All voting in favor.

Mr. Stan Scheetz, attorney for the developer of Granite Golf, pointed out an inconsistency on the proposed map.  The
dark part of the map is correct.  The reverse side of the map, an artist’s rendering, has housing extending past the
zoned area.  The developer is aware of that and will honor the zoning area.

Mr. Kehoe apologized for the inconvenience, but does want to make sure that all matters are handled correctly.

Mr. Don Butler moved to adjourn the meeting.  Mr. Kehoe seconded.  All voting in favor.

Emergency meeting adjourned at 3:55 p.m.
