LAFAYETTE TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Special Meeting
Wednesday, December 26, 2007
Meeting called to order: 3:31 p.m.
Members Present: Trustee Lee Kehoe, Trustee Lynda Bowers, Fiscal Officer Shirley Bailey
Absent: Trustee Donna Young
Mr. Kehoe reported he received an email from Trustee Young advising she would not be attending.
Ms. Bowers made a motion seconded by Mr. Kehoe to recess into Executive Session for an audit conference. Roll call
vote: Bowers – Yes, Kehoe – Yes.
Meeting recessed at 3:36 p.m. - Executive Session held including Scott Varney, Auditor.
During executive session, discussion was discontinued at 4:02 p.m. when Ms. Suzanne Heiszek entered the room
stating she wanted to know why a meeting was being held without Ms. Young present. Mr. Kehoe advised Ms. Heiszek
that he had received an email from Ms. Young that she was not able to attend. Ms. Heiszek left the room stating she
would be back. Executive session discussion resumed.
Special meeting reconvened at approximately 4:30 p.m.
Ms. Bowers asked Mr. Varney if the proposed resolution properly set out the issue. Mr. Varney responded yes.
Ms. Bowers made a motion to approve Resolution 29-07: A RESOLUTION AMENDING AND INCREASING 2007
GENERAL FUND APROPRIATIONS FROM $246,234 TO $446,234. Ms. Bowers explained the township financial audit
for the years 2004 & 2005 resulted in the Auditor of State requiring funds expended and transferred by Lafayette
Township for the benefit of the Lafayette Township Police District be returned to the township general fund from the
police district. The revenue source in the general fund increase is from those funds invoiced and returned. Mr. Kehoe
seconded the motion, all voting in favor.
Ms. Bowers reminded the minutes need to reflect Ms. Heiszek’s appearance during executive session and also that Mr.
Varney was present for the adoption of the resolution. Ms. Bowers moved to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Kehoe.
Meeting adjourned at 4:40 p.m.
