LAFAYETTE TOWNSHIP ZONING COMMISSION

Regular Meeting

6776 Wedgewood Road, Medina, Ohio

September 2, 2008 @ 7:00 p.m.

Chair Karen Schoonover called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Roll call indicated six members of the Zoning Commission were present: Karen Schoonover, Dianne Wenslow, Mike Biskup, Sherri Meinke, Russ Green and Peggy Folk (alternate). Dave Hollish (alternate) was absent. Others present included: Tony Wenslow (5750 Chippewa Road), Paul Calvo (6815 Lafayette Road), Dave Parker (6418 Lafayette Road), Jack Chester (5211 Columbia Road), Trustee Don Butler, Trustee Lynda Bowers, Zoning Inspector Alliss Strogin and Robert Arnold (architect/planner).

Minutes

Upon motion by Dianne Wenslow, duly seconded by Sherri Meinke, the minutes of the August 5, 2008, regular meeting/public hearing were unanimously approved and signed.

Correspondence

Handout materials included:

- Current listing of 2008 Zoning Permits

- Flyer pertaining to the MCDPS workshop/seminar for the 9/12/08 Bus Tour on the topic” Housing Needs for the Aging and Special Needs Population”

- A.P. Thorne letter regarding the ORC and township zoning authority

Comprehensive Plan Presentation

Mr. Robert Arnold (architect/planner) has been working for many months with Lafayette Township residents and steering committee members on updating the Lafayette Township Comprehensive Plan. Mr. Arnold did a power point presentation and talked about various aspects of how the plan was developed along with the values and issues discussed. His overview of the draft plan was very informative. Mr. Arnold indicated that he had a few more items to add to the draft plan and anticipated that he would have a more complete draft in three weeks.

Chair Schoonover stated that as soon as Mr. Arnold completed the draft the Zoning Commission would like to review it. That review tentatively is scheduled for the next regular Zoning Commission meeting scheduled for Tuesday, October 7, 2008.

Announcements

- The next regular Lafayette Township Zoning Commission meeting will be Tuesday, October 7, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. at the township hall.

Adjournment

Upon motion by Dianne Wenslow, duly seconded by Karen Schoonover, it was unanimous that the meeting be adjourned. Adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
