Chippewa Polar Bear Jump, 5K

Chippewa Lake, Ohio – “Chippy is Back” is the theme for the 2022 fundraiser. Chippy, the beloved mascot of the Chippewa Lake Polar Bear Jump is back for a live event Saturday, February 19, 2022. This is the primary fund-raising event for the Chippewa Lake Lions Club Foundation (501c3). Last year’s “virtual” event raised over $50,000 for local charities and needy families in the area.

There are 5 charity fundraising components for this year’s event:

• Participate in the 5K Run/Walk and Polar Plunge: $50 qualities for all events

• Sponsorships: Categories from $125 to $5000

• Charity Raffle – $50 Ticket: (Drawing held Feb 21, 2021)

• 1st Prize – $3000

• 2nd Prize – $1500

• 3rd Prize – $500 Goodyear Ture Gift Certificate

• Silent Auction- at the Village Inn: Many great items including local memorabilia

• 50/50 Raffle – at the Village Inn: “Take the money and run!”

Polar Bears love those single and negative digit temperatures we have been experiencing lately. It makes great ice for their event. Keep up the excellent work Mother Nature!

Well over 300 Jumpers/Runners and Walkers are expected for this year’s event. Get a team and take the plunge or experience a cool winter (timed) 5K Run or Walk….it’s exhilarating! All for good charity causes.
