Fire and Rescue

The Township maintains a volunteer fire and rescue department which is headed by Fire Chief Jerry Winkler. The department has paid staffing during the day to optimize handling of daytime emergencies.

The Township maintains the Safety Services Building located at 6367 Technology Lane, Medina.

Under the leadership of Chief Jeff Hall, the Lafayette Fire and Rescue Department has a total of approximately 40 members. Equipment consists of 7 pieces of heavy duty equipment highlighted by 2 ambulances as well as tankers, pumpers and related apparatus. The department also has 1 boat for water rescue and a safety trailer used for public safety demonstrations.
